For more than twenty years, i2S has been a pioneer in creating solutions for digital-vision and image-processing under extreme conditions. It has developed a strategy of partnerships with industrial companies and research laboratories such as LABRI, INSA in Lyon, L3i in La Rochelle, Institut de la Cognitique in Bordeaux, etc.
i2S also participates in the “Laser Route" competitiveness cluster, is a leader on the "TerraBook" project and is a member of the ALPHA association, which is responsible for governance of this project.
It is also part of the European projects of the 5th Framework Program for Research, such as VISREC (Vision Assisted Machine for Recycling Applications), FINDER (Fast Intelligence Defect Recognition System) and QUAERO whose objective is to organize an industrial network centered around the development of new multimedia content management systems for consumer or professional applications.
"We are constantly striving to innovate. Between 1983 and 2003, we filed 18 patent applications and currently have four active patents and a fifth one that is pending. Given the numerous research and development projects that are undertaking at the French and European level, we will be placing increased emphasis on our patent application policy over the next few years", explained Jean-Louis Blouin – CEO.
